About our CATEGORIES

Our EXZOO is split into the five main categories: ABO, Hybrid, Shape-shifter, Non-Shifting, Crossover.
I’m sure you already know very well of these AUs (especially ABO cough Wolf cough), but - just in case your unfamiliar with any of these tropes, I’ll explain a little bit about them!

ABO

ABO is a trope where the characters within have defined biological roles based on a hierarchical system, with the terms originating from wolf pack ranks, and animal behaviour research. There may be werewolf, knotting, or other animalistic elements involved.

Hybrids

Hybrid AUs feature characters who have a mix of both animal and human characteristics/traits - in both appearance and behavior.
The general appearance of hybrids usually include an overall human look, with ears and the tail of whatever animal the character is
mixed with (i.e. cat hybrid, dog hybrid, etc. a bird hybrid might have feathers or even a full set of wings, etc. it's really up to the author!)

Shape-shifters

A shapeshifter is a person with the ability to completely transform their physical form or shape into an animal. This is usually achieved through
an inherent ability of a mythological creature, divine intervention, or the use of magic.

Non-Shifters/Animal AUs
Introducing our new sub-category, non-shifters / animals AUs. This is for prompts where the EXO members are exclusively animals with no visual humanoid characteristics - not shape-shifters or hybrids, just simply animals!

Crossover
Crossover is for prompts with overlapping categories, such as ABO/Shapeshifter, ABO/Hybrid, Hybrid/Shapeshifter, etc.

GENERAL GUIDELINES

You can prompt as many prompts as you want!
There is no limit on words/chapters, but our word count minimum is 1.5k.
Prompts including pedophilia, incest, bestiality, dub con/non con, or underaged sex will not be accepted.-- -- -- Please be very clear of any trigger warnings your prompt might include.

We will have self-prompting.
We are OT9 focused, but prompts involving past members (Luhan and Zitao) are welcome. ANY prompts involving Kris Wu are banned with no exceptions.
The work you submit to the fest must be original and must not be published somewhere else prior to the author reveal day. Plagiarism will not be tolerated. If you are suspected or accused of plagiarism, it may result in you being banned from current and/or future EXZOO participation.
All EXO pairings are allowed. EXO×(insert group name) pairings are allowed as side pairings. Main pairings must be EXO×EXO.
The works will be posted through AO3 (archiveofourown).
Completed fics will be anonymous until the day of reveals! After Reveal Day, all authors are free to cross-post.
